Privacy Policy
DentaX ("the App") is a dental practice management application. This policy explains — plainly — what data the App handles, where it lives, and what, if anything, is ever shared with anyone else.
The short version
- ✓All patient, appointment and financial data you enter is stored only in a local, encrypted database on your own device. It is never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere.
- ✓DentaX has no backend server. There is nothing for us to store, lose, or be breached, because we never receive your data in the first place.
- ✓The App collects no analytics, no advertising identifiers, and no usage tracking of any kind.
- ✓The only information that ever leaves the device is a purchase transaction with Google Play, if and when you choose to unlock paid features — handled entirely by Google, never by us.
- ✓You are always in control: uninstalling the App, or deleting its data, permanently and completely erases everything.
1. Who is responsible for this App
DentaX is developed and published by an independent developer (the "Developer"). DentaX is a tool provided to dental practices; the practice (the dentist using the App) is the one who decides what patient information to enter and is responsible, as with any paper or digital patient record, for complying with the medical-data and confidentiality rules that apply to them locally.
2. What data the App handles, and where it lives
When you use DentaX to record patients, appointments, treatment plans, odontogram charts, payments or attachments (photos, X-rays, documents), that information is written directly to a local database on your phone or tablet (technically: an on-device IndexedDB store), encrypted at rest by the operating system's own storage protections.
This data:
- is never sent to, or stored on, any server operated by us or by any third party;
- never leaves your device unless you personally choose to export it — for example, creating an encrypted backup file, or generating a PDF report to hand or send to a patient;
- is fully under your control at all times: you can back it up, delete it, or wipe it by uninstalling the App.
3. Backups and PDF exports
DentaX lets you create an encrypted backup file, and generate PDF reports for a patient. Both are created entirely on your device. When you save or share one of these files, the App simply hands it to your phone's own "Share" or "Save" screen (for example, to save it to Google Drive, send it via WhatsApp, or print it) — you choose the destination each time; DentaX itself does not send this file anywhere on its own.
4. In-app purchases (Google Play Billing)
DentaX offers optional paid upgrades (a one-time "Lifetime" purchase and a monthly subscription) to unlock unlimited patient records and PDF exports. These purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. When you make a purchase, Google handles your payment details and shares with the App only the confirmation that a purchase was made — no patient data is included in, or affected by, this transaction. 5. Analytics, advertising and tracking
DentaX contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising networks, and no crash-reporting or usage-tracking services of any kind. We do not know how many patients you have, what features you use, or anything else about your usage of the App — because nothing is ever reported to us.
6. Permissions the App requests
DentaX may request access to your device's storage or camera (to attach photos/X-rays to a patient record) and notifications (to remind you of upcoming appointments). These permissions are used solely to provide the corresponding in-app feature, entirely on-device, and are never used to collect or transmit data elsewhere.
7. Children's privacy
DentaX is a professional tool intended for use by dental practitioners and clinic staff, not by children. It is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect any information from, children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your country).
8. Data deletion
Because all data lives only on your device, you are always in full control of it. You can delete individual records at any time from within the App, or remove all data at once by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage from your device's system settings. We hold no copy of your data to separately delete, because we never received one.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the App adds an optional feature that involves data leaving the device — this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. We will not silently expand what data is collected without updating this notice.
